With the emergence of the coronavirus pandemic, the world economies have started to experience the biggest contraction after the great depression in the 1930s. The epidemic has left the world economies faced with a great crisis that
can be encountered once in a century. The crisis has negatively affected both the supply and demand sides of the economies. The epidemic has caused negative demand and supply shocks and a massive global recession. The major economies
of the world, such as the G7 and China, have become the ones most affected by the epidemic.
Since the midst of March 2019, the Covid-19 epidemic has begun to affect economic activities in Turkey through foreign trade, tourism
and domestic demand channels. The effects of the epidemic on Turkish economy started to increase as of April and gradually intensified and spread to the entire economy. The epidemic led to an increase in budget deficits, public
debts, current accounts deficit and the exchange rate, a decrease in official reserves and the deterioration of the finances of the social security institution in Turkey. The effects of the Covid-19 epidemic on Turkish economy
has been presented with different perspectives, interpretations, econometric and statistical methods in this book. I would like to express my thanks to all the authors who contributed to the writing of the book and I hope that
it will be useful to all our readers.
